FabLab Zagreb at the Chestnut Festival in Petrinja
The FabLab Zagreb Association participated on October 12, 2025, in the Chestnut Festival in Petrinja, an event dedicated to families, children, and young people, as part of the project Thematic Systematic Support for Civil Society Organizations.
As part of the “MUZZA Science Day”, FabLab presented workshops that combined digital technology and sustainability, giving visitors the opportunity to explore various engaging STEM activities. Children and young people explored the world of 3D modeling, learned about the operation of 3D printers, and observed how complex models are created layer by layer. Special attention was drawn to technical games made with 3D printers, which encouraged creativity and teamwork.
Within the BIOPLAnet project, FabLab placed a special emphasis on sustainability through hands-on activities. Young participants had the chance to make their own DIY bioplastic and learn about the importance of recycling and reusing plastic. In an engaging and accessible way, they discovered how science and technology can contribute to the circular economy and environmental preservation.
Through the Thematic Systematic Support project, the association promoted the importance of engaging children and youth in STEM education, developing digital competencies, and fostering innovation within the community.
The festival took place in an atmosphere filled with curiosity, creativity, and good spirit, and many visitors enjoyed the perfect combination of education and fun.
